GOLDENROD HONEY WITH CHESTNUT

Goldenrod bloom begins in early autumn and continues until November. During this period, bees are already beginning to prepare for wintering and are very actively collecting nectar from this wonderful plant in order to replenish their food reserves. Fresh goldenrod nectar has a bitter taste, but as it ripens, the bitterness disappears and its characteristic fragrant, subtle smell and unsurpassed taste is manifested, reminiscent of floral-fruity honey varieties. Sometimes, due to weather conditions, the beginning of flowering of goldenrod coincides with the end of flowering of chestnut, which leads to natural mixing of these two unique varieties of honey. Since the chestnut blossoms less actively during this period, the basis of this variety is goldenrod, which is not inferior in useful properties to chestnut honey, but on the contrary complements and reveals its natural qualities. Fresh collected honey is distinguished by a light brown color, which darkens during storage, acquiring darker tones. Goldenrod honey with chestnut has a unique aroma, taste, color and special beneficial properties. It is called “sweet chestnut”.
